Difficulty: easy*, except for climb to top of Hummock, which is short but challenging
Condition: The cut sections of these trails are in reasonably good shape, but occasionally require maintenance to remove windfalls. The ATV section of the Hummock Trail is in good condition, but after wet rainy weather there may be a few puddles and short wet stretches.
Experience: These are primarily short easy trails through forests and across small wetlands. However there is little signage to guide hikers.
Highlights: Good views of the Bay of Islands and Blow Me Down Mountains
Cell Service: Reception is available along most sections of these trails.
Water Sources: There are no sources of drinking water along these trails. It is not recommended that hikers drink water from Hummock Pond or the small stream flowing from it.
Camping: There are no good campsites along these trails, and camping s not permitted.
Hunting Season: As Hummock Trail and FC Ultra Extra cross big game hunting areas, caution is recommended beginning in late August (for bow) and early September (for rifle). (Exact starting dates vary from year to year.) Hikers should wear a bright color and keep a safe distance from hunters and big game.
Dog Rating: These trails are dog friendly.

Directions
The primary trailhead for all three trails is located at the intersection of Salt Water Road above Frenchman’s Cove with Route 450 (N49.05046 W58.18651). Parking is available in the empty lot at right near the trailhead sign.
When approaching Salt Water Trail near the bottom of Salt Water Road, hikers must follow the power line to N49.06098 W58.18848.
When approaching the FC Ultra Extra from Blow Me Down Brook, the start of the trail can be located at N49.02495 W58.1966.
