On June 4, IATNL chairperson Paul Wylezol, treasurer Kevin Noseworthy and IAT Maine’s Earl Raymond travelled to Northern Ireland on the second leg of the IAT UK-Ireland 2009 Tour. They were hosted by Geological Survey of Northern Ireland Director Garth Earls and Principal Geologist Patrick McKeever. After meeting with Countryside Access and Tourism officials, they toured southeast and northwest Northern Ireland, including St. Patrick’s tomb, the Mourne Mountains, Carrickfergus Castle, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, and the Giant’s Causeway. It was an enjoyable two days, including great camaderie and fantastic scenery. On June 8 Garth also travelled to Dublin to join the IAT delegation in discussions on the establishment of and linkage between an IAT Ireland and IAT Northern Ireland.
