First Snowfall On New Humber Village Trail

On December 30, IATNL Chairperson Paul Wylezol  and Vice Chair Arne Helgeland joined Humber Village resident Andrew May on a short one-hour wintery trek of a new access trail connecting the small riverside community to the IATNL’s Humber Valley Trail.  The new trail winds its way up a forested hillside to a barren 900 ft (275 meter) high ridge, where it joins the IATNL overlooking the Humber River Valley.

To the west is a good view of the lower Humber River Valley from Humber Village to Marble Mountain ski hill at Steady Brook

while to the east is a good view of the western end of Deer Lake to Humber Valley Resort.

The new trail was cut by Andrew and is an important access to the popular Humber Valley Trail.  Now our work is cut out to have Andrew and his trail building experience join our enthusiastic team of trail building volunteers!
